Pugh, Pugh, Barney McGrew, Cuthbert, Dibble and Grub

We have had a busy term so far with a couple of new Beavers joining us so welcome Charlie and Alfie – also Edmund did come along for a few weeks but other commitments mean he has moved over to Cadnam River so brilliant he is keen to stay at Beavers. We have had Miles move up to Cubs but due to a house move he has gone over to Lockerly Cubs – he has also achieved his Chief Scout Bronze award this is the highest award the Beavers can achieve – so we will work it out with Lockerly the best way to present him this award.

We had three weeks of hard work from Beavers, parents/guardians and leaders all putting together our ‘Trumpton’ design for the return of the carnival and all of our hard work paid off with our Beavers taking first place. A special thank you to Cloe one of our parents who made all the firefighter costumes along with Joy for all the accessories, Dan and Tracy for dressing the float, plus our parents who helped out on the float and as ‘runners’ who made sure we were safe and collected money as we went. Lastly well done to our Beavers who turned up in fabulous costumes and behaved wonderfully on the day – it was a great day and we are looking forward to next year’s carnival.

The Beavers have also been working hard to achieve their ‘YouShape award’ where you get involved in planning the programme, representing their section and leading other Beavers to achieve or take part – they worked over several weeks to cover the whole badge culminating in them taking part in the carnival – this is an extremely important badge to achieve because we are a youth led organisation and it is so important that the Beavers have their voices heard and make positive choices in their Scouting lives.

Thanks to all the parents and guardians, we could not do it without your support.
