Most of you will have seen us out and about in the community throughout June at one of the four events we played at – Jubilee Beacon lighting parade, Jubilee family fun day, Copythorne Carnival or Saint Mary’s church fete. All of them were a great success even with low numbers of us at most of them, and particularly well done to our drummers Andrew and Chloe who led us in both parades without a more senior drummer. For both of them, the carnival was only their third parade carrying a drum, so to lead the band like this was a great achievement – you should be proud. Of course well done to everyone else who played with us at any of the events too.
Our social media channels have also been doing well with the influx of posts we have been able to do with four events in three weeks. We are now busy building up to a summer concert which we will be putting on at Saint Mary’s church on Thursday 14th of July. Much like our annual Christmas concert (which we haven’t been able to host since 2019) we are now starting to put on summer concerts too, so that we can showcase our other music, as Christmas is heavily focused around the carols/ festive pieces. The concert will be open to anyone to come and watch so look out for the posters around the community.
